I'm thinking about buying a new guitar and the tele sound really has me hooked! i already have a Fender CP60's strat with Voodoo PUPs, and i love it! i took a look at the roadworn serie's and must say that i am verry intrigued buy the looks and sound. I don't know if the worn feel is much of a difference? i was wondering if someone already tested the two? and if it's worth the money  i love tele blues and jazz! :D

2 different guitars.. but for what I heard in videos etc, I like the Baja's pickups more than the Tex-Mex set in the RW.

The finish is another factor that may be crucial: Poly that won't age much, or nitro, that is already worn, but will age even more - 2 things to think about

I also believe the RW has a slimmer neck than the Baja.

I would buy a Classic Player Baja Tele, say no thanks to the gig bag and upgrade to a nice hard shell case to protect it. And you'll still have money left.

I picked up a RW a month ago. I love it, it plays very nice. It feels instantly like a guitar that you've had for years. The neck just is right. Naturally this is a personal preference thing, but I think it is the better buy.

Exactly what I did; the guitar demands a nice HSC.

The price difference involves the extra time and expense of a nitro finish and 'relicing' the thing. The 7.25" radius on the neck could be fun though. It's a 'look guitar'. I like the classic player, because it gives you new technology in 'old' clothing (S-1 switching and 4-way switch), and the twisted Tele bridge pickup is simply sublime. The Baja's soft V-neck is the most comfortable neck I have, more comfortable than the C shape on my Strat Ultra. And who wants to see a picture of your RoadWorn? Count me out.

I don't think the roadworn is worth the cost. I am distressed that they would 'distress' the bridge hardware (I'd rather do that myself). The hotter pickups may be an improvement. To me its $300 for pickup changes and three-way switching; the rest of the package is unnecessary.

I only bought strats for years but in the past month ended up owning two teles and I really like them. I think I've been missing out on something really fine. They are really not the same animal at all. I plan to expand my tele collection in future.
