Bringing this thread back to life! I own #0673 purchased in New Hampshire, USA back in 2000. Love the guitar, but would love to know the worth. Played carefully and never gig'ed. I as well have never heard anyone over #0995. If anyone has one over #0999 the world would love to see a picture of it!!
Pure tone on the throne!!
TeleTime!

I just bought #042. Can't wait for it to arrive. It'll join a nice stable of California Stratocasters, an Eric Johnson Strat, a Gibson E335, Gibson Les Paul, and an EVH.

I bought mine from a collector about 20 years ago. It was unplayed, and it is still in museum-condition (only used it for studio recordings). Serial number is #0002.
I had the opportunity to compare it with a 1952 and 1957 tele, and it's sound was very very similar to the 1952 tele: such a sweet neck pickup sound, a bridge pickup with serious bite.
It sounds great on tweed, brown and blackface, Fuchs/Two-Rock, and vintage Marshall amps (such as 1974, super bass etc).
One of my best purchases ever. Vintage early fifties sound for a fraction of the price of an original early fifties tele. Fender did a great job with this one.
