Sorry if this has been covered already but I'm new to Tele's and I currently play an American Strat and a Les Paul Studio and I want to add a Tele to my collection. I have pretty small hands so i'm looking for a nice thin neck on a Tele. The one's I have tried all seem to have pretty thick necks.
Any suggestions?

Thanks

Get an American Standard loaded ash body and Mexican Esquire neck (C shape, 7.25 inch radius). It's slick.

Esquire necks are not thin - they are pretty chunky. Certainly thicker than Standard tele necks. Yes, the nut is .7mm narrower according to spec, but that doesn't offset the extra thickness. I have both, and the Esquire is a noticeably fatter neck.

The ONLY difference I found between the current production line Mexican Esquire and an American Standard neck (apart from where they are made) was the radius. They are both spec'd as a modern C shape and when I played them both, found no difference in "thickness". I have just replaced the neck of my American Standard with the Mexican Esquire for that very same reason. I also have a 52 AVRI & that has the clubbier U shape neck. :D

Of course, as with every guitar you should always go and get the feel right for yourself - just lending a (small) hand.

I have the same problem with short fingers. The hwy one is nice, a bit thinner. I would go to guitar center and pickup different models and see which feels better.

I just bought my first Tele about a month ago. I have been playing a les paul and I wanted that good fender sound. I tried all the fenders in the store and I found that I liked the Mexican Tele better then the American Tele. I had money to get ether one. But the neck and action on the Mexi was much more to my liking. For the price I think that I got the better end of the deal.
