Both are very nice guitars. The '60s will be wonderful. There have been some disputed problems with the Bigsby, but if you're gonna use it, I wouldn't worry. If you've ever played a decent tele, you'll know what this one sounds like. Good luck! :D

I bought one with the Bigsby in Candy Apple Red last fall and it is wonderful. Great fit and finsh, superb neck....besdies, the Bigsby just has so much wow factor on the Telecaster. Red and chrome, looks great on guitars and cars!
I don't have a problem with it going out of tune using the Bigsby and the Bigsby is so much smoother and easier to use.
The photo below is from the day I bought it. I did have the switch plate rotated and had the volume and tone pots reversed so the volume is at the top. The switch was always getting in the way.
I also immediately replaced the cord "cup" to eliminate any future problems. I've had plug problems in the past.
I'm waiting for a custom hard case to come from G & G Cases and will take new photos of the modified Tele and it's case then.
Don't know if it's an issue for you, but the 60's telecaster with Bigsby is made in Japan.

Have in mind that the feel will be different too, the 62 has 7.25" of fretboard radius and small vintage frets, while the Am. Std. has 9.5" radius and medium jumbo frets.

the 62 has the trussrod adjustment on the end of the neck, the Am. Std on the headstock, 21 vs. 22 frets.. different pickups... what you usually prefer, vintage styling or modern? I think in the end it's down to this.

Why not make your own?

I took an '08 American Std and added a vintage bridge plate with 3 graph tech bridge saddles and a Bigsby B-5. Since the strings would now have to pass from the back instead of thru the body, I had to make 6 notches with a file to make it work.

The pic shows the vibrato before I marked, drilled and mounted it to the guitar.

I got the Std brand new with factory warranty from an ebay seller for around $900.00 and the Bigsby, bridge plate and saddles added about $100.00 more.
