do I need to change anything on the setup on my guitar to put heavier strings on it and tune it to drop c ?

You can replace any tuner with a Scruggs Banjo Key, This allows you to tune to E and with the slight turn of the tuner drop to C, or G, D, or anywhere else you'd like to set it.
so you are not stuck in a drop tuning all the time. You don't need to alter anything on you guitar. The only mod you will have to make is to enlarge the string hole just a little, very easy to do. This is a country kind of thing, but can be used for any type of Music, I use use one to play Country, Blues, Rock etc. Some guys use one on top E and another on the B string. Hope this will give you another option. Mike

Not really, restring and tune. I keep a guitar cgc tuned, but it grew kinda old after a while.

I ended up having the setup changed a bit and putting heavier gauged string on it and tuning to Db. Thanks for the advice though.
