I was born in north eastern Alabama...parents moved to Chicago when I was two, and I've lived in Chicago ever since.

"themanfromalabam" is just my stupid user name which I use for the various guitar gear forums.

I guess that makes you a Chicagoan. There's not much going on these days in N.E. Alabama. I guess you lucked out. Except for the traffic, cold & snow. :( But there's always deep dish pizza & Maxwell St. Polish sausage! :D I lived in Chicago for a year and miss some of the food.

Wow, I totally missed that black bucker. I like the look of that! It fits in with the classic tele look. I've never warmed up to the strats with the humbucker in the tail. How does that SD sound in the bridge?

Yeah cold and snow, Chicago is the best City in the world the later half of spring, summer and the first half of fall...as for the other six months it sucks, especially as you get older.

The Little Tele 59 (single coil size) humbucker is Seymour Duncan's best product ever IMHO...it's great for pop rock, classic rock such as Led Zepelin...it can do metal as well...what it doesn't do for "me" is country or blues which is why I have my other tele's.

theManfromAlabam - The Summer of '03, the temp didn't rise above 80 until after July 4th. Then is got really hot for about 5 weeks. I was cool with that.

That little 59 sounds like my kind of pickup. I don't really wanna mod Gypsy. I may try to pick up a MIM tele to mod. I can't really afford it right now though.

tonepro - Thank you. Glad to hear you like Gypsy. She's really a sweet axe.

I hope to roll a video of Reese playing her tomorrow. We were at GC, networking today. We did play a beautiful '75 Tele Thinline today. Reese really loved the way it played. Some nice folks met him and want him in their Gospel band.
