Im in the market for a tele, and it seems the highway 1 fits the bill. unfortunately my local music store doesnt have one i can compare to a standard tele.

I read in reviews that the frets are huge on the highway 1, much bigger than on the std, or my Am Deluxe Strat. Im not sure if i would like or loathe this.

is it true the frets are much larger? i know its personal preference, but what are your feelings on the larger frets?

All Fender guitars in current production have spec sheets at this site. Specs include type and number of frets. Check it out.

im aware of this, i did check out the spec sheets.

what im asking is, as i dont have access to a guitar with jumbo frets, are they much different from medium jumbo frets? the spec sheet cannot tell me this info, only users with expirience of both can.

Found a music show with Highway 1 tele's and answered my own question.

the one i played was set up absolutely horribly. When played beside the Amn Std tele it was just awful.

Plus where the american felt like a quality, refined instrument, the highway 1 felt like it was hewn roughly together. it just felt rough and ready. perhaps it was the setup of the guitar but its 100% convinced me to wait a few months and save up for an American Std.
