I absolutely love my Tele with a maple neck. It feels better by a long shot than any other neck.

Not that it matters, but the tally of those who've stated a preference is 7 to 1 Maple, with the author being the 1.

Kind of interesting.

In fact it increases to a full 8 to 1 if you count my vote twice.

I prefer maple to rosewood because of both feel and looks. That being said I wont refuse to play one with a rosewood board. Now i used to not care and I used to be kind of on the fence. But then I got a guitar with a birdseye maple neck and WOWZERS!!! Now the only thing I wonder is why the heck dont fender make more guitars with birdseye maple necks!!!!!!

I'd love to see and hear all about it.

Ran across and fell in love with this on the bay several months ago, but picked up a new American Deluxe for a steal instead (No regrets, $850 and it's a real looker and sweetest player I own). But I haven't stopped thinking about it. (Although I'm not much into the gold, I've got 3 other guitars w/it so what the he!!.)

i have maple on my tele and strat. i like the one piece neck and the way that the maple feels. i have a rosewood on my gibson and i much prefer the maple (especially on my tele). it just feels better. as for the sound i can't tell the difference. on the whole if it feels amazing play it regardless. (still prefer maple on the telecaster)

With a Tele, maple is kind of "classic". I prefer maple, but all but one of my guitars has a roosewood board. Maple isn't always available from every manufacturer either.
