Hey,
My Tele plays so easy that I can 'make it' sound like what I want. It seems for me it's easier to get a different tone out of solid sweet playing guitar like my Tele than it is to 'try to play' something else that's has a particular tone.
I also switched from my Strat because the Tele can cut through with mix with 'Clarity' when I play funk rhythm or solo when the lead guy 'forgets' to turn down when we switch off. And there's nothing like a hardtail. The dang thing never goes out of tune!! Ever pop your hi E on a Strat in the middle of a solo? Yeah, not a pretty sight and an even worse sound!

It's all so uncomplicated, you pick up your Tele and there's only one thing to do...... 'PLAY!!'. This in itself has made me a better guitarist.

In reference to George Harrison's Let it Be, you have to play that Rosewood Tele through a Leslie speaker.

Glad to see a lot of votes for Springsteen. Very true, radio nowhere is awesome tele tone.

Also most all songs by alternative band 7 Mary 3, their guys use a lot of teles and crank some tone , they are a bit unknown these days.

I think John Mellencamp's "Authority Song" has a tele all over it. At least to my ears.

Mike Stern and Bill Frisell make Telecasters sound sublime in a progressive jazz way.

At the Obamafest before the Inauguration, Mellencamp's guitarist killed with a telecaster on "Pink Houses". All JM's music has Teles twangin'! What is his guitarist's name??
