:P Hi . after playing a strat for about 6 months and playing guitar for a year, a good friend has finally talked me into buying a telecaster. i guess you can never really have enough guitars. anyway i chose a 50s classic black. love the tone and playability. put it on layaway. now comes the wait. look foreward to talking tele with you all in the future. :P

Congratulations.

I played a Strat for 14 years (meanwhile secretly lusting after a Tele).
Finally got one this year (just a standard) and yeah its everything I'd hoped it would be!

Enjoy!!! And make sure you post up some pics when you get it!

Cheers

Congrats, but be warned: Telecasters can be addictive. I have 10 Teles, 17 guitars overall, and I can look at almost any other type of guitar and control my want/purchasing urges, but Telecasters for some reason can make the control mechanisms inoperable in me...

Congrats on the new Tele. I got mine about 6 months ago and can't put it down. I also have a '59 reissue LP and a Gretsch so it is hard to pick a favorite. The Tele has single coils with great twang and basic controls so it is a lot of fun to play. A real 'players' guitar.
Best of luck with yours.

congrats on the Tele. You'll love it. I have spent all my life with just a acoustic and last April finally got my first electric and it was a Tele. though I spent about this 6 months before that trying to decide what guitar I wanted and after looking over the hundreds of other out there I went with a tele as well and shortly after that I got my second one. the first one i got i converted into a Esquire. and I haven't looked back.

Hope you enjoy you Tele. Rock On

Congrats Tim. Hope the layaway doesn't last too long. Having a Tele around the house is a very good thing.

I bought my first Telecaster four years ago and got addicted fast. One turned into four and I developed my own 12 Step Program to deal with the addiction. The 1st step was admitting that I have a problem. The other 11 steps involve ignoring the first step and indulging some more.

Great news Tim. I have had a Strat for 10 yrs and finally got a Tele last month. I am loving it more everyday. After friends checking out mine looks like there are a few more Tele's around the neighborhood. Enjoy.

Hey,
Watch yourself. I bought a Tele earlier this year and can't stop playing it! In order to play my Strat, I have to hide the Tele upstairs. If it's in the room it will be the guitar I'll play. It just plays so nice and I enjoy the simplicity of it. There's nothing to do but play the dang thing. I've probably doubled my practice time just because of the Tele.

Mine has made me a much better guitar player. You will enjoy it. Try not to neglect your Strat!!

M

Congrats on the new tele, you made a wise choice. I have 2 teles and a strat and the teles seem to get more play time, to me the tele is the original designed real deal guitar, solid body, minimal controls and looks killer. You won't stop at just one, I have my eye on a hotrod tele now.
Have fun with her.
