Is there a big difference in sound between deluxe or standard, I mean the difference of the S1 switch? Dont know wich one to choose. I'm playing lead in a countryband and planned to buy a TELE besides the Strat I'm using now.

Thanks anyway

i don't think there would be a major difference in the two.... to tell for sure, make sure to play both of them and see whether or not you think the added features would be worth the extra cost, or whether the standard fits your needs

Allright, FINALLY it is so far, not gonna wait any longer! This week I'm gonna try them both out and get one home. Think it's gonna be an American deluxe aged cherry.

I say go for the American Deluxe. I recently got one and do not regret it one bit. I play mostly rythym and some lead in a country/classic rock band and the S1 in the down position gives me a very warm humbucker tone. You get virtually no noise from the SCN pickups. My experience with the American Standard is that you will get some noise from the pick ups that annoy the crap out of me (and my band mates). If you going to spring for an American, you might as well bite the bullet and go for the Deluxe. Mine is the aged cherry with a maple fret board and I have recieved many compliments on the look and sound. I play mine through a Hot Rod Deville and the tone achieved with this combination is nothing but SWEET.

 Got it :!: I played several including the James Burton, but that was close to my strat72 and I needed a real TELE. Thanks anyway for the help guys but the choice was made for 90%, and that's the one I took.
The American Deluxe Aged Cherry with that BIG Telesound. Sounds great.

Congratulations.........you are and will be very happy.
I went over the same situation. After lots of research and test I end up with a Deluxe 3-Tone Sunburst with Maple Freeboard.
Real sweet tele. They dont get any better.
