The best way is to use a Bigsby with removeable pins. Not all models of Bigsbys do this, but some do - perhaps in the 60's and 70's. The pins come out with an Allen wrench, leaving a nice hole in the bar of the Bigsby to put the string through, like you would on a stop tailpiece. I have this kind of "F" Bigsby on my old Thinline.

That's the easiest way to do it. But if you don't have that kind if bridge, trhread the string under the rollers. Put a little bend in the string about 1/4" from the ball end, and loop the ball end around the pin. Pull the string taut with one hand, and then clamp it down with a capo in the first fret. That frees you up to get it wrapped around the tuner.

just like mine
you could get someone to help hold the string,

never get rid of it, even if its a pain in the rear to change strings!

If you get a set of round-ended pliers like they use in beading you can make a nice curl on the end, which makes it easier to thread around the pin bar.

The Bigsby web site tells you how to string the B5. They say to use a foam wedge to hold the string in place. However, I use one section of a spring type clothes pin. (Take the clothes pin apart and you have a wedge shaped piece of wood.) I find that it works better if you insert the wedge in the side facing the bridge. That way it presses against the ball end of the string...Works like a champ. You can put a piece of the adhesive type felt on the clothes pin side that contacts the guitar, if you are worried about the finish, but I didn't find this necessary.

I have the MIJ '52 reissue Ash Tele with Bigsby (birthday present from my daughter)...Love it!

It is never easy, everyone has their own way of doing things. for the most part, take what you read here and see what works for you. I tend to do just one string at a time. I have tired the curl with a pair of pliers and that isn't bad. It's still tough keeping the tension. I space the string with it attached to the bar. Then, once I know the length I will need, I will string the tuner first, then with the string loose, I wrap around the bar and attach to the post. Then with my finger on the bar to keep tyhe tension, I start winding till it is strung.
