Metal sounds great on them too. Mostly hard rock / some odd country rock hybrid here.

topic was the sound of the tele, so i want to mention its voice.

the first time i heard a tele the air fried...
another time i heard gleaming stone and a voice like cold fire.
Between the phrases a dark and sparkling
silence crowded to deliver terms on done is done,
but this redeems,
in a voice that heals the rips and peels
the blind away from dreams.

i have a 2007 mexican telecaster and i love it. i think that it is better then the higher end ones that i have played. as for the rock thing...the telecaster does awsome for rock. the key is the bridge pickup. the higher output makes for a great sound. it also does great on the clean. the finger style capabilities are awsome as well. since you can play anything with it, it makes for the best guitar.

Let me say that I just purchased a Fender Telecaster and I love It. Some people don't know that they play best on a clear amp channel. The guitars were not made for heavy metal or hard core rock stuff ect. The Tele was made for country and blues players, this is mainly because of the pick-ups.

thanks make sure to plug your tele in a clean amp channel

How about this guitar was made for guitar players. There was no such thing as the multitude of genres of music when this guitar was invented.

I am by no means a metal player, but I will challenge a LP with my Tele any time you think a Tele isn't as good at metal. The Tele's pickups are so versatile and of such high quality that its unbelievable. Don't go around saying that a Tele's sound is limited unless you have a crappy Tele. Get a USA Tele, a real amp, and some guitar lessons, THEN come back and say a Tele has a limited sound.

hey
This is a friendly fourm and Yes they can sound good playing metal and I was just giving my opinion that it sounds better on a clean channel. Fact that my US tele sounds so much better on a clear channel but if you ajust your pickup hight you can trie to get a distorted sound out of it.

I like to play distorted to but on my strat.

remember this is a friendly Fourm

BUT MINE SOUNDS BETTER ON A CLEAR CHANNEL. YOU ALSO NEED A GOOD AMP I RECERMEND A PEAVY CHORUS 400.

ALSO I RECERMEND USING A ''SCREAMING BLUES'' EFFECTS PEDEAL.

Play a tele through a tube amp. See what happens.

SO TRUE!!! I do not own a tube amp but I am working on getting a 15 watt blackheart. It doesnt matter what guitar, 9 times out of 10 it sounds better through a tube amp. Again that is subjective. I have played my tele through 3 different traynor amps, 2 different blackheart amps, the hot rod deville, delux and the twin and delux reverb... ill be honest it sounds awesome through any of those amps. The amp I gig with and practice with however is a line 6 spider 2 which sounds A.) Like crap, and B.) Like crap, and also a little C.) Like crap. I dunno what I was thinkin when I bought it. Ah to be young again.

you should try a ignater tube amp
talk about power

+1 Izzy Stradlin back in the Guns n' roses days plays a tele and I can tell you that it can hold its own against Slash's LP. Gilby Clarke who replaced Izzy also used a telecaster live and it sounds pretty kick $@! in Guns.
John 5 mainly uses all kinds of tele's (I think he owns close to a 100 of various tele's by now), not just his sig ones with humbuckers and he can get a great metal sound out of it.

I'm going to say this again and repeat what most members are trying to say in this forum. The tele is one of the most versatile instruments ever and has the most usable sounds for all types of genre's.
