I went to my local GC this weekend and played the new road worn telecaster. And I must say I was surprised, the pickups were very nice sounding, the road worn finish was tasteful and IMO a very nice guitar. If they weren't MIM I would have bought it. Too bad Fender can't make a U.S. road worn tele that is affordable. But I'll do my part to stimulate OUR economy, I'll be buying my 52 american vintage tele real soon.

peace out.

Ha! yep, I need to use that "doing my part..." line on my wife. Just bought a Vintage Hot Rod 52 Tele (wife was good with it). I tried the Road worns as well, but it just did not grab me.(The 52 Hot Rod attached to my face like the creature in "Aliens" and has not let go)

I did also test drive the hot rod tele, I must say, that is an awesome tele as well. The neck pickup is amazing and the feel of the neck was very nice too.
You gotta good one!!!!

My local music store called me yesterday to tell me that the 2 tone road worn Tele I requested was in. I am in the middle of a Warmoth project and to be honest I was trying to think of how I could tell them I wasn't interested. I ordered it though so I figured I would check it out.
It took me about 10-15 minutes to tell him, "I'll take it!"
The relic job is tasteful, and believeable. The neck is smoother than any guitar I have owned. Fret work is a B+. The Alder on the body is really tight grained, light, and very musical. Intonation is about as good as it would ever get for the 3 piece bridge saddles. Pickups are just hot enough to get some nice growl outta tubes. This thing has VIBE. FUN!

Few Month back there was a used 52 RI Tele hanging on the wall at my local GC. Butterscotch Blond and I had to get it. So I did.

My other Fender include.
Eric Johnson Strat - nuff said.. great guitar
MIJ CAR Strat 57? it has 3 ply pick guard
but never owned a Tele..

My other axe: PRS Bird Custom 22, Epi Casino, Brian Moore iGuitar, Variax 300.

It came with that useless neck pu wiring - I modded with 4 position. and reversed the volume/tone/pu sel plate. Now I can swell volume without the pu selector in the way. 4 way is so versatile.

Now I always thought Tele should have 3 pole bridge. I intend to keep that way. But now I am having inonation issue. I would like to do minor adjustment. but with each pole sharing 2 strings. it is hard. Is there a tip to do this...?

You can get compensated bridge pieces, which can help with intonation.

You could try Fender directly, as the compensated saddles are stock pieces on the Hot Rod 52.

Callaham makes em, as do Graphtech, and Wilkinson.

Cant hive direct links from here, but look at the Stewart MacDonald site for the Wilkinson Stuff, and Graphtech's site for a part number to google.
