Best Buy just raised their prices on most Fenders. The 72 Tele Deluxe ri which was priced at $750 USD (I paid way less a few weeks ago) went up to $941. They had an AM series Tele for $999 yesterday and today its $1275. The Mexi standards are still at $399.

What do you think?

With the economics of everything else in the world, the price increase doesn't surprise me. However, I feel its time that Fender start to really think about what they are putting out these days...how many variations of the relic theme do we need? And how many overpriced signature guitars need to be released this year? If they cut back a little on some of those things, perhaps the prices would not have been raised as much....

Hi, It looks like (as of right now) Mucisians Friend/Guitar center still has the same prices. Sounds like you got yours just in time! If you are planning a purchace, and are thinking the price will go up when your ready, you might find a shop that will "lay away"...

The MIM Standards for 399$ are old stock. The late 2008 and newer ones go for 450$ (black, white and wine) up to 550$ (metallic colors).. 100$ more for a metallic color.. nah.. I'll pass.

I know that the Road Worns already have the corrected price.. let's wait and for the rest.

This is proof of the beginning of inflation. The government is printing and putting too much money in circulation. Obama will not do anything to curb inflation also. Get ready for some tough times.

Check out www.sweetwater.com. Many of the Fenders in the gallery already have the new prices. Like per example, Am. Deluxes for 1.600,00U$, Highway 1s for 950,00US$ and Classic Series Strats for 749,00US$. MF and GC must be only waiting to burn the old stock to change the price tags.

   Wow that AM Deluxe for only a dollar sixty seems like quite the bargain, but 95 grand for a HW1 and 74 thousand 9 hundred for the classic series seems a bit steep., just kiddin' ya. You meant $1,600.00, $950.00, and $749.00 I am guessing.

You know, I understand raising prices, BUT BY ALMOST 40%!!!!!! A 52 vintage tele went from 1499.99 to 1840.00. I'll do my part, but keep it real, 10-15% would be acceptable.

The thing is, Fender has raised prices 5-10% every year or every other year just to keep up with inflation or whatever, so the fact that they had to jack up prices so much either means they are greedy or perhaps the economy worldwide is in a bit of a downward slump as some of the experts have been saying...

I have all the guitars I want for now......so......thank God, I'm not buying now. I've never seen Fender guitars at Best Buy......and I live in California. What's up with that (not that I would buy a guitar from Best Buy.)

Again, supply and demand. They can double the price, if the sales drop, the prices will follow.

At that point, unless the dealer can renegotiate, I am afraid it will hurt them more than the Fender.

Maybe Obama is to blame for this price increase. If he wasn't clueless, things would be better.
