First off hello everyone, I am new here and need a little help. I just picked up an American Standard Telecaster body, from my uncle it had been in a massive accident. (my aunt backed the car on top of it). The neck was snapped but the body survived. Anyway now that I have it I am looking to rebuild it. I have been trying to find an actual Telecaster neck for it, I have been unsuccessful so far and was thinking of contacting fender, however there is some difficulty in authenticating it. It is a very recent body 2008 specifically.

I trust my uncle he plays in a jazz band and has no reason to mislead me though the possibility of him being mislead, and having got a lemon is possible (anything is really). Anyway the serial numbers on the site shows to 2005, so I am trying to figure out if it is worth going to the trouble of bugging fender, or can I authenticate it myself and not waste there or my time.

Anyway if anyone knows were I could go to authenticate it or check the numbers printed on it that would be great

Thx :D

Hi man! Welcome!

Honestly, forget Fender. Go in Ebay and buy an original Fender (from a american standard or another MIM OR MIA model - check the seller "ReliableFender") neck or get an Allparts neck. Good luck!

Yeah, I'd say Ebay or Craigslist would be your best bet. Good luck.
