Just got a MIM Tele for $50 at an estate sale...steal of a deal...that being said, I would love to turn it into a blues hot rod.

Any ideas?

GFS?

Texas Special?

American Standard?

Something else?

I put Duncan Alnico Pro II's in my E Series Japanese Tele. Very vintage twang; not entirely beefy, but I think they get a real nice vintage trebly solo tone.
+1 on the GFS; tele fatbody pups are great.

How are the SCN noiseless ones from the American Deluxe model?

I love my Telecaster SCNs when I'm playing clean blues through a nice tube amp and they're remarkably quiet when overdriven. Putting a set in a MIM Standard Tele is the single best mod I have done to any of my Fenders.
