I was wondering if anyone played a 52 Tele through a Marshal VS100R Combo Amp or any Valvestate amps. What are you feelings on the tones it produces and what kinds of music do you play out of it?

OK its not quite a 52 Tele but I just got back from my friend's place where I'd plugged my Standard Tele into his 40watt Valvestate combo.

All I can say is IT ROCKS MAN!!!

He can play just about any style so we really put it through its paces both with Clean tones and dirty with plenty of overdrive. Played everything from country, to blues, and heavy rock. The only thing the Marshall didn't handle too well was surf; the Reverb just wasn't up to it, but everything else sounded great.

Really highlightd to me that I need a bigger amp. Not for volume, but more for a "fuller" sound.

Cheers.
