I bought a Hwy1 about 4 years ago from a repuatable dealer and that came with a gig back and basic care kit. The dealer tossed in a set of strings (my choice) and a strap.

When I got my AmStd just a couple of weeks ago, same dealer, I got all the case candy (strap, cable, care kit, etc.) and the TSA-approved hard case.

Since I know this dealer is 100% honest, I know that's how both came from Fender, so that's what *should* get anyhere. Points to Fender for resolving the original poster's issue -- that's what I call effective customer service!

Not to try and hijack a thread, but I am buying a Baja Tele from a local dealer (Fender Authorized) that has been hanging on their wall for 6 months.

What, if anything, should I possibly expect to get with the guitar.

I figured JUST the guitar until I read this.

Thanks.

... and that's why we love Fender! Good job!

I took the advice here and e-mailed the Fender Customer Service Dept. on January 28 about my missing strap locks. No response yet. How long did it take to get your missing goodies sorted out?

When I bought my Am. Standard Tele, it came with a strap, cable, polishing cloth, etc. Just call Fender. I bet they will send that stuff to you.

Here's what came in my American Standard Strat case - the one that I just won - shipped direct from Fender. The second picture is the "packing list". I would expect a Tele to have all the same except for the tremolo arm.

* inspection tag
* Fender case sticker
* case key
* two hex wrenches
* strap
* polishing cloth
* cable
* tremolo arm
* manual
* packing list
* registration card

I'm not saying all of them but most of the dealers stores employees pick through the case candy. Then whatever is leftover, they drop it into a discount bin and sell it off.
It's pretty shady s***. But I'm glad Fender took care of it. 8)

This sounds pretty underhanded but I bet if Fender found out that some dealers do this I bet Fender would be all over them.

Just an update: I e-mailed Fender Consumer Service at the end of January to tell them about the missing strap locks from my American Deluxe Tele. I pretty much forgot about it and wrote them off figuring I'd have to purchase a set. However, I received an e-mail from Fender on February 20 to let me know that replacements were on the way. They took about 10 days to arrive but I got a brand new set of Fender/Schaller strap locks including the buttons.

Way to go Fender! And thanks for the great support.
