I just bought a new MIM 50's Telecaster and it sounds and plays great but their are a couple of small problems that I'd like some opinions on. First, the small well for the jack is loose ( not the jack itself but the well that surrounds it ). It doesn't fall out but it wobbles when you insert or remove the plug. Second, the volume knob seems to have to be very high in order to get any sound ( I like moderate volume so this is not a real biggy ) but the first 1/3 of the pot seems to produce nothing at all. It does this on either or both pups. Are these things common? I know if these are really bad I can go back to the store but I' like to be armed with a little info before I walk in. Thanks for any comments.

Hi!
So, you have a problem with that jack cup being loose. That's something an electrosocket would fix. But if you got the guitar brand new, you have no reason to worry, I go back to the store and get another one. And that pot must be defective. I have the 60's Classic and the stock volume and tone pots work/worked (I changed the volume one last year, mine is a 2001 model) effectively, not just at the first 1/3 of the way.
