I'm looking for some pickups to put in my Tele that are geared more towards Rock and Hard Rock. I'm looking for humbuckers that are moderate output. Something possibly like a Cool Rails from Seymour Duncan. Just wondering if anyone had any input.

Check out the "Chopper" pickup for Telecaster, by DiMarzio. That's what that dude that was a former Mr. Big guitarist along with Paul Gilbert uses in his Tele bridge position. I remember watching some of his videos in Youtube and it wasn't a bad tone at all for what he does.

So, it's Richie Kotzen that I am talking about:

In this one he's talking about his gear:

It's Dimarzio all the way. Tone Zone and Chopper would be my two choices.

Do these pickups clean up good also? I know I'm not going to get the best of both worlds but I'd like to get something that is somewhat versatile. Would you put the Chopper in the Neck and the Tone Zone in the Bridge? Thanks. Thanks for the suggestion.

Watch Kotzen's videos, see how he gets a cleaner tone turning his volume control down, of course it won't sound so shimmering or jangly and clean like a single-coil but I think it's a great middle ground if you are into heavier distortion.

I am a nucklehead ;) I meant tone zone in bridge and the "Area T" In the neck.. not chopper. I like the clean tones from Dimarzio's alot but they are not nearly as jangly as the pickups fender puts in or the Duncan's

Thanks for the replies. I have to do some thinking. How do you think the Seymour Duncan STK 1T Neck and the Dimarzio Area T Neck compare?

I think I'm going to go with the Dimarzio's. I think an Area T in the Neck and a Chopper in the Bridge. Seems like a good way to go.
