I don't own a Tele at all. I don't care for them.

I bought a new Amercian Deluxe Tele a week ago. Sunburst on ash with maple fingerboard. Now it's my favourite guitar.
I ordered the deluxe tweed hardcase for it. It should arrive this week.

I bought one in early May '07. Aged cherry sunburst finsih, alder body and maple fret board. It sounds great and is a blast to play. You can be jazzy, get funky, have the blues, rock out or twang with the best of them. WARNING! It is hard to put it down once you start playing.

aloha kakou,

I have a 2004 Mexican telecaster, it's ok. Love the fretboard, tuners and bridge but the pick ups, pots and switch are just ok. I've seen and heard the new Tele Deluxes and have made the committment to upgrade. I've purchased the S-1 switch and pots for $50 and will buy the SCN set and have them installed by my local tech all for about $155, so it's gonna cost about $585, the poor man's tele deluxe. I realize it's not really a deluxe, but close enough for my budget. I've heard complaints about microphonic squeal from the bridge pickup at high volumes. Anyone have similar problems or concerns?

thanks
aloha

I have a 3 p/u version as well but mine has a Fishman acoustic p/u as in the bridge. On yours what does the switch between the knobs do? Mine switches between the Fishman and other 3 p/u's but I want to get rid of the Fishman.

Thanks

Harry

Actually, I never found out exactly what the small swtich does, but I understand that it changes the combination of pickups on the 5-way swtich. Probably enables the guitar to have the standard Tele Bridge/Neck combination, as well as the centre pickup by itself. 8)

Anyone know if this is the case or not? (otherwise, I guess I'll get the guitar off the wall and check it myself... )
