Why hasn't Fender made a VG Telecaster? I like the idea of the VG Stratocaster, but I would like a Tele version. I mean all of those sounds and tunings in one guitar is an awsome idea, but I'm a Tele fan. Any comments?

It would be interesting to see if you can turn three pickups into two and get the same sound. Might have to have one humbucker and a single coil..or maybe modify a nashville tele.

I'm not certain, but the singer/guitarist of the band thrice might have made a VG tele deluxe. he plays an obviously modified butterscotch 72 deluxe thats listed in Wikipedia as a variax, telecaster hybrid. When i saw them live, he never changed guitars between songs that required a baritone and songs that used other tunings. the other guitarist changes between his jaguar baritone custom and his normal tuning guitars (usual a les paul custom) but the singer doesn't. I'm pretty sure he has somethin similar if not an actual VG tele. Just some food for thought.
