It's basically a copy of the 72 Tele thinline with a single F hole, semi
hollow body with Fender dual humbuckers which they still make in a natural version and sunburst version.
At the time a few years back they were offering some FSR versions
in some other colors in which I got a candy apple red model. I sure wish
I would have gotten the lake placid blue model as well. If they ever
offer them again I would get the blue color.
I love the light weight of these guitars as well as the sustain of
the semi hollow body and those humbuckers rock and that pearloid pickguard is sweet looking. Gorgeous guitar and love the thin fast neck on it. What do you expect, it's a Fender.
When I get a chance I'll get out the digital camera and take some pics
and try to get them posted on here. Just can't get enough of Fender
guitars as have been using them for over 30 plus years. Am considering
getting a hard tail Strat in th future for some of that single coil sound.
But of course I have my eyes on a couple of other Tele's as well.
Thanks for the input and all the best my Fender friends.
Fender Rocks,
Tele-D

Thanks tele9,
Thanks for the link to the pictures of 72 Tele thinline.
Sure hope they bring back the FSR series again as I would
still like a lake placid blue one. That about sums it up for
those who want to see pictures.

Rock On,
Tele-D

Hi, Tele-D. I haven't run across a Lake Placid Blue '72 Thinline Reissue but I did find a Fender Special Run 2 color Sunburst that I couldn't resist. It's the lightest, most comfortable Tele I own, the neck is fast and the pickups won me over in a hurry. I'm having a hard time putting it down. Here's a pic.

Hey John.Bohn,

Don't blame you not wanting to put it down, looks like a beautiful
guitar. A great guitar can be like a beautiful great lady, sometimes
better as it don't nag you and makes sweet music as well.
Thanks for sharing the picture.

Rock On,
Tele-D
