You may be showing your age. Joe Strummer started a band called the Clash. In my opinion, the best punk band out of England. Not everybody’s kind of music, but if you were a "rebellious" teenager during the 70’s, you knew of , or liked the Clash.

Strummer was a complex and interesting man, far more than just the "punk" image many people have of him--one that he, of course, cultivated. His work with the Mescaleros was really cool.

You don't have to know of him--or even like his music--to appreciate a good guitar! I would like to have the chance to play one.

That axe was literally that, it was used on more than one ocassion to wallop an unruly fan or security personel at concerts.

See, Joe was destitue at the time. Squatting in bombed out partially demolished flats, starving and jonesing to own a Telecaster married a women from Spain ( i think) so she could stay in England and with his 200 dollars he received went out and bought a Tele from a local pawn shop. Talk about priorities.

Anyone interested in Joe should check out 'The Ballad of Joe Strummer'.

His biography just released not that long ago, it's a pretty good read when you're taking a break from pickin'.
