I've got a USA Fat Tele (, and haven't been happy with the humbucker that came with it. I'm thinking about changing it, and wondered if it's a standard size similar to gibson. I don't want to do any routing, etc...

Well, I would think the body is routed for a humbucker. If it is a bridge plate issue, Guitar fetish sells bridge plates that fit a standard humbucker

I guess I'll measure it up, and compare with other aftermarket pickups.

The USA fat tele is a relatively rare Tele and as such they are holding their value very well. They are possibly even increasing in price now. :D

I would suggest strongly that whatever you do, make sure it is a reversable process. Your tele will only retain it's value if it can be reverted to the original setup. If you have to rout the guitar to get a different HB in, I would recommend just buying another guitar, like maybe a 72 Tele Custom RI and modifying that.

Exactly, as I said, there will be no routing happening on my watch. I'm not all that fired up about even changing the pickup, but have been considering it.
