I just got back from GC, I got to play some Road Worn series Fenders there. I was looking for a tele and went in to see what my options were. I had forgotten the Road Worns had come out and was surprised to see them there, saw the price, came with a gig bag and made in Mexico so I figure no thanks. Played blond Road Worn tele and was amazed, I have been playing 25 years and that was the best tele I have ever touched at any price point. Warm and fat with the strange combo of 7.25 radius and jumbo frets, neck profile is killer and the whole guitar feels broken in. A guy next to me was buying a 52 Hot Rod and the Mexi I was playing ate it up bad, I would even venture to say it plays and sounds better than the 2 CS Custom Classic teles I owned. I bet it would hold it's own until you got to the team built stuff anyway. I am sure this topic has been beaten to death here but Fender has hit a home run with this particular line of guitars. I am a generally a 24 3/4 scale player but I could not let this tele get away, I am hopefully picking it up this weekend. The above are my own experiences YMMV.

i think you made your first post a good one, welcome

i have not played these road worn guitars yet but i will say, i used to be an "american" snob growing older (now 26) i have so much appreciation for these "cheap mexican" guitars that freaking rock. the road worn guitars look cool, just plain awesome. i dont care that they come out a cookie cutter. friends come over and i bet everyone is going to want to play the beat up one. thats fine!!! now no one gets scratches on the guitars that im actually tring to preserve. if i didnt buy 6 guitars in the last 3 years, i would definetly go get a road worn for sheer novalty AND from sounds of it, a real players guitar.

thanks

I'm not in the least bit surprised to read this, I've had a few MIM Fenders. I have absolutely nothing but praise for every one of those guitars, I regret trading them up. I don't care for the look of the road worn guitars, but I think I will check them out. Thanks for the heads up, and welcome to the forum Jim.

A couple guys in another forum already have theirs and they posted some pictures. The Road Worn Teles look amazing from close, though a little similar, no 2 guitars are exactly the same. The reviews about the sound, fit and finish are outstanding as well. I definitely think those are great buys if someone is into relics (or someone who doesn't care to buy a factory worn guitar). No way to get a brand guitar with that quality of finish for a lower price (think Nash, K-Line etc..).
