Does anyone know if the American Deluxe Ash Telecaster has a contoured back? I know the American Deluxe Telecaster has a contoured back and I don't really like it. I just wanted to make sure the ash version was a non-contoured body before I considered a purchase.

No, the American Deluxe Ash Tele doesn't have the contoured back like Snowy's fine looking machine!

It doesn't have the binding either like the standard (nothing standard about it mind you) American Deluxe.

Think of it more like the '52RI with modern hardware...

Me too! Or, rather why my wife bought mine for Christmas. I was trying to decide between a Deluxe Ash in Butterscotch or a '52 reissue. I just found that my big fingers could fret the Medium Jumbo frets better than the vintage style. Also, though this may be heresy to say, I prefer the heavy steel bridge with 6 saddles to the old style. The only thing I would change is the S1 switching. I like the sound you can get but I would have preferred a 4 position switch to the special volume pot.
