ok, I bought a 2nd hand fender tele yr 2000 mim..
and I notice that the string is close to the frets.. so there's a buzz on in every note I play,. how to adjust it?
I didnt came with a manual so I dont know what to do,
im thinking it's the truss rod but I doubt it because I heard that it's for the neck itself..

I really need your help..

thanks..

String height and action are a combination of the truss rod and the height adjustment screws at the bridge (where the strings come out of the body on the topside). To adjust the height adjustment screws, you need to find an appropriately sized allen-wrench (usually, though sometimes they are made for a small slotted screwdriver). If you are unsure about this or the truss rod, I suggest taking your guitar to a professional, or at least someone with maybe a bit more experienced with guitars for either the repair itself, or at least another opinion on what the issue may be.

If you feel comfortable doing things yourself, and you know the model of Telecaster you have, then you can also go to the Products section of this site, find your model, and download the manual.

It gives all of the factory measurments and tells you how to set them.

I've never had a guitar that didn't need adjusting at least twicw a year, at least here in Oklahoma. The best way to adjust the truss rod is to hold down at the first and 12th fret and loosen or tighten until there is about the thickness of a thin pick between the string (low E) and the 6th,7th and 8th fret. it's pretty easy to do just take your time and you'll be fine. as far as the string height i just drop it down until it buzzes then raise it up till it stops. There is no magic to setting up guitars just patience. Good luck!!
