Hello spw,

Firstly welcome to this forum.

Fenders mexico made guitars are a well
made instrument, I haven't heard of any
quality issues, just the opposite in fact, how
many feel their mex model outshines a USA.

I own a 12 yr old mim I never had a problem.
I hope to get a USA model one day as I believe
the electrontic's are superior and bit nicer on
the fit & finish, For now it's just fine.

Go play a few, I'm sure you'll like them.

Cheers.

thanks for the info.
think the problems im reading about sound like more of a setup thing.
we have a couple of "superstores" up my way and have heard many horror storys about them.
i dont have the knowledge yet to take one off the rack and do proper setup.
we have a good mom and pop store who seems to really take the time with you. only problem is they have a very small inventory.
i know color is not that important but if i am going to buy new may as well get what i want.
think i like this forum concept anybody have any thoughts on this?

I would buy new for sure. Especially a MIM which isn't necessarily expensive. About the colors: Look at this link:

http://www.fender.com/products/search.p ... 0145102375

Look at all the colors and find one you like. I personally like Artic White. But you may like the Sunburst better. Just keep in mind that you will have to pay about $50 more for that color.
MIM's are great guitars. I seriously considered one before I got a MIA.
Good luck.

I had a MIM Tele Custom 72, I loved that guitar. I regret trading it up, but I got a MIA Tele Deluxe. You could say the MIM made me hungry for more, great guitars.

I've had my MIM Tele for a year (today) and I haven't had a single problem with it. Matter of fact, the MIM was recommended over Americans.

Hello SPW,

Superstore or local little guy,
it's their responsibility to deliver a
Fender product set up. I prefer the
local little guy, ask if they will order your
color. Let us know the outcome.

Cheers.

No quality issues with it.
