Good day to all of you Tele lovers. I'm from Manila, Philippines and play Rock n' roll style of music. I just bought a Mexican Telecaster. I need your advise. I want to change the stock strings to a gauge 10. Do you think the neck of my guitar will be concave? Do i need to adjust the rod because i feel that it might bend the neck?

Thanx guys and more powey to all of you.

You should always adjust the intonation when you change string guage. You might get away with it with just 9 to 10, but you're correct that the higher guage will exert a bit more pull on the neck. Your tone and tuning will be a bit off.

Most times it is very litte change going up one string size if any that you can notice so it would be very minor tweaking now going up 2 sizes for sure you will have to make adjustments.

thanx for the replies. 9ers are just too thin for me, tonewise and playability.

You might have tweak the truss rod a little.

The truss rod probably won't need adjusting going from 9s to 10s but your intonation would benefit from adjustment

I use 10's on mine and all I ever had to adjust was the intonation.
