Hi.
I am in the need of your help. I saw this guitar, the baja telecaster, and i thougth: "That looks nice!"
But does it sound any good?
I know it's a custom shop thing and that it has some cool features, how do you use them and which combinations sound good?

If you have any pictures, please share!

Anyways - Merry Christmas!

Vintage bridge and saddles, custom shop pickups, 4-way pickup selector switch, S-1 switch, V profile neck, and an ash body.

I wanted one of these. I got a standard for x-mas last year. I've up graded my tele to get close to the baja and I love it. I have the 4-way, vintage bridge(compensated), and Custom shop texas tele pickups. Sounds and plays very well. With all that I did to my tele, if I bought a baja it would have been about the same price. Even more options.
I still would play everything with in your budget if I was you. Good luck.

I got a baja. I chose it primarily for the s1 and 4way switching. It sounds great. My previous tele (some 20 years ago) was strictly a bridge pickup only guitar. With the Baja i do use all 4 sounds. I dont use the out of phase sounds (s1 switch down) I think they detract from the sound too much. Saying that i hear a slight difference on the neck pickup only setting with the s1 down, it seems to become slightly more focused.
I dont like the out of phase sounds, you may love em. It doesnt matter because the in-phase sounds are so good.
On the playing side, mine is heavy. Nearly 9.5 ilbs. The neck is quite comfortable but did require a good deal of tweaking. Its very thick too. Forget any notion of it being a soft V, its more of a very thick U shape.

On the whole its a good tele, there are certain issues. Namely intonation and setup. But what do you expect for £400. It certainly offers more than anything else i've bought in that price bracket.

Well said. 8) Try compensated saddles. It's inexpensive and pretty easy if you don't mind a "do it yourself" project.
