Just curious to see if any of you may have had any experiences with this little Mandocaster by Eastwood. http://eastwoodguitars.com/Other/mandoc ... rstFIN.jpg
I stumbled across it during some late-night insomnia driven web browsing last night. It looks fun!

Wow - what a sweet little jewel! I'm amazed that Fender hasn't snagged that idea and put into production.

Fender used to have a Mandocaster that was a 4 strings and one pickup.

I've played one of them--it's a lot of fun.

While some mandolin purists would shudder, if you're a guitarist experimenting with mandolin, or a mandolin player looking for something different, this could be it--and it's a real decent price as well.

I'd consider it, if I had more cash.

Well since I don't actually own one--take my review for what's it worth.

But I would say they're worth checking out.

You were the first to mention trying one out that was not selling. I have watch videos of the Mandocaster on youtube and thought WOW I need to get one of these but of course they are demo adds for it not someone just trying one out. On the Eastwood site a few weeks back they had a demo one for sale at 249. I regret not buying then but my Gas was not built up yet to the point of purchase you no what I mean.

There is a music store near me that has a bunch of Eastwood gear, including two of these Mandocasters. I'm suprised and pleased to say that they are actually quite cool. I had a mandolin when I was little, but I didn't remember how to play. I was more than impressed and I'm going to horde my cash or trade some stuff in to get myself one.

If you call it Gear Acquisition Syndrome--GAS still fits--and cover amps, effects, etc.
