I own a '52 RI and it's my main guitar. I also have an original '59 Bassman. I run the Tele straight to the Bassman. No pedals, no rack effects, no nothing. Just pure tube and Tele power. It's bliss.

I'd also like to get my hands on a vintage '53 Tele like Roy's. Boy did that sound sweet.

Personally I dig the natural '72 thinline telecasters. Although I wish they came in more than two colors. The deluxe's are also very pretty.

Gotta be the '72 Deluxe (in black of course). It's such an oddity. It's like someone put a Tele, Strat and Les Paul into a blender and poured out of it a truly great guitar :)

I agree, I have the '72 Deluxe Reissue. But it's in Walnut stain. It still looks nice, but I would have much prefered a black one. But I just couldn't resist not buying it at the time because I wanted one for so long and the guitar shop here rarely ever has the guitars I want.

My favorite is the '72 Tele Deluxe with dual humbuckers. A sweet guitar . . . and Buddy Guy rips on one on occasion.

Second favorite, but I'll never afford is the Tele Deluxe Custom Shop reissue. My god what an instrument.

My favourite Tele's? Hmmm, in order of how often I play them, they are:

1. '72 Thinline (natural)...feels right, plays right and sounds gorgeous.
2. '52 AVRI ... classic everything?
3. Highway 1...gotta love that neck

The toughie, is trying to decide on what Tele to get next. I'm kinda leaning towards the '69 Thinline in mahogany.

I'm a big fan of the plain old Am Std Tele and the MIM Nashville. I don't think you can beat the '52 reissue for the pure Tele vibe though.[/i]

I had a '72 thinline years ago. It kicked. Traded it for a 12 string and have been beating myself up over that ever since. I did get a very robust price for it mind you. Still wish I had my tele though.

My favorite Telecaster(s) is/are the '72 Telecaster Deluxe, '69 Thinline, and the standard Telecasters. I'm also saving up to get the Joe Strummer signature model and I currently own a Squier Telecaster Custom.
