Taking a look at this forum, I found this subject a good place to start. I grew up in "Gibson city", but I about fell off my chair when I tried out a Fender '69 Thinline. I was actually looking for a '72 Thinline (because of the humbucker pickups), but the store was out of those. I eventually got the '72 Thinline in 2003, but I still had pleasant dreams of that '69 Thinline, so I picked one up in 2006. For my blues and R&B, I don't think anything beats the semi-hollow sound with single coils or humbuckers, especially through an amp with some tubes in it. And these axes are so pretty to look at.

I'd have to call it a tie between the Nashville Power Tele and the Limted Edition Lite Ash.

I demo'd one of those "lite-ash" models and it wasn't that "light" !

I guess one can't expect perfect concistency of weight at such a modest price. The one I tried was very nice and light.

I like my '04 Highway 1 Tele - Affordable, excellent playability and tone. I would like to try an Albert Collins model with the humbucker in the neck position.

Gotta be the '72 Deluxe (in black of course). It's such an oddity. It's like someone put a Tele, Strat and Les Paul into a blender and poured out of it a truly great guitar :)

I don't owned a Tele, but have demo'ed and tried many over the years...my favorite would be the Hot Rod '52..oh my god, what a nice guitar...plugged through a 65 deluxe reverb reissue...it was the perfect combo...

The Gatton sig Tele is the guitar of kings, but I truly feel the MIM Esquire is one of the greatest gigging machines ever. MIM Nashville is excellent value and instrument, too
