I live in São Paulo, Brazil, have my band (http://satis.zip.net) and, of course, my dream is to own an original Fender Telecaster. As my budget doesn't afford it yet, I bought more than a year ago a Squier Tele and I'm quite happy with it, it is very well finished and has a pritty good sound, even with its original pick-ups.

American Teles are great, I've played on them before.

They are pricey though. The deluxe model has an awsome aged cherry finish.

They were out of my price range, so I got a Made in Mexico Tele. I'm extemely happy with it, and they are cheeper.

You need to play a ton of them if you can. You never know, that Squire might feel better to you than the others. If that's the case, save your money and keep the Squire.

Good Luck,
MCH

I've modified quite a few Squiers. They are pretty easy to learn how to DIY on a lot of mods.
