Hello everyone,

Newby here!

Having recently departed with my Rickenbacker 330 and Martin D-15 I've decided it's time to realise an ambition I've had for several years and get myself a Tele.

I've decided on the American Deluxe and although I've decided upon the Maple neck I can't decide between the Aged Cherry and 3 Colour Sunburst finish.

If you have either of these guitars I'd really appreciate it if you could post photos on here to help me decide instead of the stock images you find on Google.

Many thanks!

p.s. Any news on an '09 Am Deluxe model?

Saying that, I still haven't ruled out a '52 or '62 vintage yet, so if you want to post pictures of those then please feel welcome!

I'm not much of a photographer, but here's a few pix of my Tele deluxe. It's a fine guitar, sounds great, plays great, what more can I say :D

Thanks Snowy, yours is actually the one that inspired me to start this thread! I'd seen it the other day when I was searching for pictures; it's one fine looking guitar!

It really is a great guitar Elvis, go and try one out. You'll fall head over heels, I kid you not. I tried the 52 the same day I bought this, just something very speical about the Deluxe. The finish is awesome, it really is an American beauty. I'm playing her now, thru the Blues Jnr, and my Vodoo Lab Analog Chorus pedal. Unbelievabe sound, music to the ears

I got the aged cherry - I think it's just the most beautiful guitar!

Thanks guys.

Anyone with the 3 Colour Sunburst finish?

I am tempted with the Aged Cherry though; that pickguard is sweet! Saying that, I'm not sure if it's a bit too flash for my level of playing!

Many thanks to all of you who've posted photos.

I finally got round to trying the Am Deluxe Tele out last weekend and although I loved pretty much everything about it I've decided to go vintage.

What happened was this; when I got there I asked to try out the Am Deluxe Tele and the '52 RI Tele. They had the Am Deluxe in stock but the nearest they had to the '52 RI in terms of the hardware and neck profile was a Custom Shop 50's Relic Tele, and although the whole idea of paying for someone to trash my guitar never really appealed to me in the past I was totally smitten. I think it was mainly due to the feel of the U shape neck, it just felt right (although I can understand why some may prefer the C shape neck; they're poles apart). It's hard to explain the rest, I guess with it's battered body and rusty hardware I'd just expected it to feel 'soft' and 'loose' for want of a better description, but it was the exact opposite. Absolutely amazing guitar, at a premium though!

Anyway, I now need to decide between a '52 Telecaster Re-Issue (which I'll relic myself over the next few decades!) and a '51 Nocaster Relic which I can get for around £500 ($775) more? A topic for another thread perhaps...

Thanks, it stems back to a hazy New Year's Eve fancy dress party I attended a few years back!
