My baja tele is superb. Its tone on the bridge pickup is very authentic and its playability is very good too, nearly as good as my 57 hotrod. The only nearly a downside is that it weighs more than a lespaul.

I'm one very smug bunny where this guitars concerned, anyone have any idea how to get this tone on a strat. Is it a ash strat body, tele bridge and broadcaster pickup job.

One other thing, this guitar resonates like a jackhammer. Its a real rib tickler. Fender MIM has definatley got a lot better.

That LP's finish is a major reason why you can never ignore Gibson or their subsiduaries, its tremendous look at the depth to it. My baja's weighing in at 9.2 ilb's. Not quite the back breaker i thought it was. I must have very light strats.

Everyone likes the Flame maple top but this Custom Plus also has a Maple set neck. The new ones are Mohogany but I think the Zakk Wyled are still Maple neck.

Feels like teaching my grandmother to suck eggs even making a suggestion like this to the Ninja, but...

The Megaswitch E-model allows you to select neck+bridge on the middle position of a Strat's five-way. See the bottom of this page:

http://www.stewmac.com/shop/Electronics ... tches.html

Miami Mike has done that mod and says it is good. Get you one step closer to a Tele middle position sound on a Strat, at any rate.

Incidentally, my Tele weighs a touch under seven pounds. Guess the words Lite Ash really do mean something after all...

Cheers - C

I was thinking more along the lines of putting a tele 3 saddle bridge and broadcaster pickup into my strat. Ceri you could certainly fit the trem cavity infill for me. After seeing the work you did on that headstock screw i'd be happy to pay.

Some pickup makers offer a "tele bridge pickup" that will fit into a Strat.

I've seen some project guitars that had a Tele bridge put onto a Strat, but I haven't been able to find one this morning. Sorry. :(
