Alright, so I'm looking into buying my first Fender.
I have some Squire strat right now. i want a real fender.
I have decided that i want my guitar to be a telecaster (for various reasons)

I was wondering if you guys out here might have any input on my decision.
or ideas.
I was looking at the:
Classic Player Baja
Highway one
Classic series (50 or 60)

Or any other suggestions in or about the price range of the ones listed above

Hope you guys can help
:)

Um... go for the Highway one... but I'm only saying that because it's Made in America and you could sell it for more than if it was mexican. Maybe the 3 tone sunburst or the honey blode. Either one looks great with a black pickguard, and I put one on my MIM sunburst and it looks incredible.

I personally like the classic player baja because of it's versatility. it has a phase swith for the s-1 and a 4 way switch so you have a lot of options. besides that, it is a great sounding guitar (i love the custom shop tele twisted pup that comes stock in it) and is very well made. American's may hold a higher value, but for playability i like the baja as a guitar. Really, just go play them and see for yourself which you like better. As far as others for a similar price, there are the 72 deluxe and custom (deluxe has humbuckers, custom has a humbucker in the neck), the 72 thinline (essentially a semihollow 72 deluxe) and the 69 thinline (2 single coil pickups). But I favor the Baja and the Highway one personally. These are just others that you can look into. Happy hunting!

These are all decent guitars. I'm not sure what your budget is, but you really should get out and try to play as many as you can. I'd also suggest checking out the Blackout Tele.

get the Baja and you wont miss the inbetween sounds of the strat. I bought one and its nearly made both my strats redundant. I personaly dont think the MIA/MIM arguament comes into it. Both factories produce good and bad guitars, so play a selection of the ones you like and find the best one. If you go for a 3 saddle bridge guitar then get some compensated saddles to go on it too.

I'm a big fan of the Highways - Strat and Tele. I've often wondered why they didn't extend the offerings to other models like the Jag and the Jazzmaster.

I'm a fan of the Highway One Telecasters so they get my vote.

Sounds great
Greasebucket tone circuit (ultra cool)
Excellent value for the price
Made in America

Here's my 2004 Highway One
