Well, interesting topic: I do agree with most of the names mentionned (of course not with all, that's why music is so great) and there are few that I never heard about before (sorry folks!), so I will rush to my favourite music store to discover their style.

Just to add my two cents comment, I would like to highlight how great amazing wonderful Albert 'Iceman' Collins was.
He is to me one of the very utlimate Telecaster players; Folks, I really recommand his live session recorded in Toronto at El Mocambo Club in 1973. That's something unique!
Hail to you Albert, can't you see what you're doing to me? ;)

My two favorites are:
Andy Summers and a Nashville local guy, Stacy Mitcheart.

Richard McNamara from Embrace :)
(The British Embrace, that is. Sort of like Coldplay.)

I saw him play my favourite of their songs (Feels Like Glue) live on a Tele Deluxe last summer, and have saved for the past year to get mine.

Futoshi Abe from Thee Michelle Gun Elephant is my favorite Tele player. I've never heard a more dextrous right wrist or a ruder Tele sound in the garage rock medium.

P.S. I like Albert Collins too, he's AWESOME!!

Hmmm...I'd have to add Mike Bloomfield to the list of greats.

Peter Green just smoked on a Tele too! :D

They've already been mentioned, of course, but I too have to give it up for: Albert Collins, Mike Bloomfield, and Steve Cropper, plus Buddy Guy who used one within the last few years.
