To the best of my knowledge they are built in the USA.

I've got to be honest with you I've played both the Strat and the Tele and I was not really impressed. I own a 50th Aniversary Strat I love it. They are pretty and all, but who knows you might like them.

I've noticed that many companys (i.e. Harley-Davidson and Fender) will make an anniverary addition for anything. Fender has come a long way. The 1979 25th anniversary Strat was a pretty bad. First there was very little that made the guitar special. It was a typical 70's era Strat with "Anniversary" written across the upper horn. Second the paint was done poorly and they cracked and peeled badly.

The 40th anniversary model was a 90's era Strat with an little ugly tiny logo on the headstock that said, "40." This is not very inspiring.

For the 50th and the 60th anniversary they did much better. The finishes are beutiful and the workmanship is top notch.

The 50th has a nice partchment single ply pick guard, 1954 custom shop pickups and a nice neck plate. The case looks great and the 2-color sunburst is perfect. I feel like I'm playing a 1954 Strat. This is one of my favorite guitars for looks, playability and sound.

At the momment I'm playing a black maple necked Highway 1. My taist in tone changes so I move from guitar to guitar over time. My top 6 guitars that I own are:

50th Anniversary
Highway 1
Home Built Strat
Eric Clapton Strat
Muddy Waters Tele
My 110 Taylor

I have to say, what I have played and heard, anniversary editions across the board are usually top shelf guitars. I also think that what better way to create interest in a guitar that you may already own, than making a select number of models with the anniversary stamp.

I think you'll find that there are two types of 60th Anniversary guitars. There are Limited Edition Guitars, where only about 1000 upscale guitars are made specifically for the Anniversay and there are "60th Anniversary" guitars, which are essentially standard USA guitars, with a 60th Anniversary label on the headstock.

Here's my Ltd Edition 60th Anniversray 52 Vintage Reissue. It's truly beautiful.... 8)

I have a Telecaster and a Stratocaster bot 60th ann.
I had a Usa Telecaster before but i like the 60th ann. much better.

I think that the pick-up are different (=better) in the 60th ann.

The set up was bad out of the case, i had a pro do the set up and now it sounds and plays very well !
I like it.
