Post subject: mounting a tele neck pickup

has anyone mounted a standard tele neck pickup with out using a pick guard?
if so, how do you do that and maintain height adjustments

one way is to use strong springs below the pickup and screw directly into the body but be careful not go through the body

+2 :) (that's the way it was done "back in the day" and still is on the 52 RI Tele's.
