I own an Eric Johnson Strat, and I've fallen crazy head over heels for the neck on the EJ. It's a 12" radius (305MM) with a 1.65" nut width (42MM). I'm shopping for a new neck for my Telecaster body, and I can see the neck on the Jim Root Artist Series Tele has similar specs. If I get lucky and find a Jim Root Tele neck, will it fit the neck pocket of my Tele?

Thanks!

You may have an issue with setting one of the four bolts on the neck to the body. There is a contour on the body where the bolts fit into the next. Because of that contour one of the bolts (upper left bolt) will be offset lower than the other 3 bolts.

I see. Hmmm. I suppose I could still make it work, requiring me to put another hole in the neck, since the placement of the third hole wouldn't line up with the four holes in the body. That assumes I can find a used Root neck. Decisions, decisions.

Any other Tele necks with the same spec, radius and nut width wise that wouldn't require me to drill an extra hole in the neck?

Thanks for your advice.

Hey dude, if you're into playing metal, why don't you get the jim root and try it out, let's just say that guitar can play more metal than just slipknot and stone sour.
