Mine will gradually work itself loose, cup and all. The socket remains tight to the cup, but the small bracket that fits into the body is junk. Has anyone tried the electrosocket cup that screws into the wood?

In 40 years of playing, I've never had that problem. Maybe I'm just lucky? :?: :?

It's happening on my Squier Standard. My 08 American Standard doesn't have that problem.

May be time to upgrade it to the Electrosocket.

ElectroSocket will be some of the best money you'll ever spend. If a Tele-jack ever starts giving me trouble, thats what I put in there, otherwise I keep them stock...

It happens on my American Stratocaster. But I just tighten it down with a socket driver. I suppose I could put a drop of lock tight on it but it's not enough of a problem.

No issues so far, but I'll keep and eye on it.

My MIJ 60’s Custom Telecaster with Bigsby has a bad output jack. After first trying it with no problems three or four times, my guitar plug would not stay in, nor make connection. And the guitar is less than 2 weeks old.
I took it back to my dealer and they are upgrading the physical jack to a Switchcraft and also installing the Electrosocket. The factory output jack is cheaply made and that spring clip arrangement that holds it in place is horrible. I can’t believe more people don’t experience this problem on Telecasters. It’s surprising what you find when you look “under the covers”.

It did once on my MIM 72 Reissue Thinline. However, it never has on my 02 Hwy1. I recently got a CIJ 72 reissue to replace the MIM and so far, no problem with that; also everything seems tight on the 68 Reissue Thinline I got about 2 months ago.

I ended up replacing it with the ElectroSocket and have not had any problems since. An easy fix that only set me back about $15.00.
