Could someone give me a little feedback on what product to use if any to clean the Maple neck of my American deluxe Telecaster please. It isn't super dirty I have only had it a year and a half but if I sit and play for an hour my fingers are black when I get done. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Welcome to the Fender forum! You can buy some DUNLOP fingerboard cleaner or you may have old strings. Put your finger under the high E string and slide up and down a couple of times. If you have dirt on your finger, it is time to change your strings. By the way, how long have you been playing?

the mape neck has a sealed finish on it so any polish would work fine. That said you should wash your hands before you play.

Don't use fingerboard cleaner on a sealed maple fingerboard--at best it's useless, at worst it could cause problems with the finish. It depends on who you listen to.

So as above--polish and clean hands will help. Even a clean soft cloth by itself will also help.

But the problem is probably the strings. If they've been on for a few months--time to change them.

Sometimes new strings do that as well, until they're "broken in"--but that depends on what type of metals are in the strings.

i use 1 part lemon juice to 5 or six parts water. Acidic enough to eat the grime, watery enough not to hurt your finish. If your cleaning a satin finish wipe it off quickly, dont risk it settling into the laquer

Never use any polish which are aimed at rosewood fingerboards.
Just soap and water will make it.
Believe me .
I own so many maple neck guitars

You got that right Alain on maple I use soft rag with a little water and rub. And on rosewood I use Stringfellows LemOil conditioner. :D

Also try FastFret to clean your strings and neck. Also, as Alain said, you can also use a wet towel on the neck. Good luck dude! 8)

I just use a clean all cotton flannel cloth - it works perfect.
