I just did another pick up swap in my Hwy 1 tele. Swapped out Seymour Duncan's Hot Rails for the '59. They're both humbuckers, but the Little '59 is a much more musical p/u IMO. The Hot Rails is a very cool in your face sound, but that's were it starts and you realy can't mellow it out without squashing all the sound out of it The '59 starts with a very mellow PAF full even tone that can be nastied up as much as you want and then you can clean it right back up. It's something I couldn't do with the H/R, it was always WFO. Pushing mids way out front. I've wired both set ups with 500k giby pots, a mylar film .05 mf cap, a series/split/paralel switch for the bridge, and a 3 way. But still as much as I like messin' around with this Hwy 1, as soon as I did the first pick up swap, I went and bought a American Standard. 'Cause there ain't no sting like that Tele thing.
Peace. J.J.B.
