This model looks really cool but I can't find it on the Fender website:

http://guitars.musiciansfriend.com/prod ... sku=517885

Anyone know anything about it?
It looks like the great average Joe Tele that people were talking about here...

The reason for why it isnt showing on the Fender website is becouse it is an F.S.R guitar (Factory Special Run) and i belive this one can only be bought trough MF!.

and yes it seems like a nice guitar, me wants a Tele!

It's also available from Guitar Center - I was just in Las Vegas and both GC stores had one in stock. Unfortunately neither felt good enough for me to buy, and I couldn't get out of LV to any other stores.
A real bugger for us non-US wanting an affordable natural finish Fender tele. Unfortunately I don't have any guitar savvy US friends to trawl the GCs and find me a keeper to buy and ship over :(

Hello JohnnyL

I'm searchin out a new Tele
and that FSR ash at Guitar Center
is pretty neat. I play it ocassionally
a nearby centers and I like it a lot.
I'm really looking for something a
little more high end.

So, If I watch my coppers, I may end up with
a GE Smith or a 52 vintage reissue.

Best of luck on your quest.

Cheers.

With those tex-mex alnico pickups and an ash body, it looks like a good deal to me. I'm not crazy about the MOTS guard, but that's a minor fix.

I just bought one of those ash MIM Teles from Guitar Center in Baton Rouge, La. and I could not be happier. It's heavy, tight and is so bright sounding that I start smiling uncontrollably whenever I play it. I smile even bigger when I think about how much I paid for it. I picked out a nice tweed case for it, and once I get a black pickguard on it, it will be perfect. Ive owned dozens of guitars ( several very high end) and I can't remember ever being happier with a new instrument. I don't like, however, the way the guy at G.C. just handed me the guitar with no paper work whatsoever, save for the receipt.
Thank goodness for Fenders most excellent website to help me find out everything about this model. I didn't even know what a FSR was until now. Thank you Fender/Mexico.

BTW - if you are still looking, go to Guitar Center - they are down to $419.99 again today.

I just bought one saturday at GC. Beautiful Tele with awesome natural woodgrain and the neck on mine is perfect. I played many different models but kept coming back to this one. I have 2 strats one MIA and one MIM and love em both so this being a MIM does not concern me. Ya gots to go with the one that speaks to ya!

Yes that is a nice Telecaster and yes Guitar Center also had them. You have to remember that Guitar Center owns Musicians Friend and Music and Arts Center, Woodwind Brasswind. They are all subsidiarys of Bain Capital which Manages Burger King,Toy r Us ,Domino's, Warner Music, AMC Entertainment, Sports Authority, Even The Weather Channel they are supposed to have like 100 billion in assets. And the main Founder of this company is Mitt Romney the Governor of Massachusetts and former Prez Candidate.

I'm gonna get one, though I am gonna have to amputate that wretched tortise guard imediatley and replace it with a black one. IMO busy (shell/perloid/multicolor) guards look okay on solid colred guitars, but are crap on guitars that show off the wood grain

It would look much better with Black pickguard.

All come on cookieman I did not say I dont like it I said it would look better black. There just something old school about black on a nice clear finish and that guitar when I looked at it had a great grain wood look to it and the black would just make it stand out that much more. Matte Black
