Purchased a new MIM Tele and a Peavey Vyper 7. Problem is that I'm getting quite a bit of buzzing thru the amp in certain areas of the room. If I move the guitar in a certain position, the buzzing will go away, but most of the time, the guitar is acting like it's sending out some sort of radio wave that the amp is picking up. Sure hate to have to be restricted to sitting in a certain position in order to enjoy a quiet amp. I've turned down the volume and gain which helps a little but I don't think that's the problem. This amp is picking up some sort of interference which I can't I.D. There are no radios, T.V.s or florescent lights around.

Also, at first I thought the cheapie cable I bought was the problem so I replaced it with a Mogami 10"cable. I've moved the amp from one end of the house to another, changed power outlets in the different rooms. I even plugged the amp into my line conditioner.

Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Although the shielding is better on the newer MIM models, you might want to check for a broken ground loop. It also may be the amp, and not the guitar, so try both separate and see if you can isolate which one is causing the interference. Good luck!

You might also want to look for some un-obvious source of noise. My ancient Champ 12 is slightly noisy so I was used to the occasional buzz when playing on the patio or in the living room (patio opens out from there). I would occasionally even pick up a radio station (cable possibly to blame there, but who knows).

So I thought the worst when, one night, I was playing out there and I couldn't hear over the hum. I tried moving around and it would get better in some spots, worse in others. Ditto the living room -- if I got way over by the side away from the patio, reasonably quite; anywhere near the patio and I'd have to shut down.

Long story short: I'd recently purchased one of those lighted palm trees for the patio. After a week or so of head scratching, it finally dawned on me that there must be enough wiring and bulbs in there to overcome even a top quality cable and a hum filter. That proved to be the answer hence my suggestion to look around for something else that could be creating a lot of electrical noise.

You're problem is probably from the fact that you are using the same circuit as major appliances in the house. Often times in a house/apartment/ etc. one of more rooms are on the same circuit, which is fine for most electrical items. Amps pic up dirty electricity and then have weird noises coming out of them.
Try the amp in other rooms throughout the house.

At least it isn't as bad as mine....
Mine picks up radio stations. But foreign ones in strange languages.
I've been told by a few technicians its down to the cable but i'm not sure.
The first time it happened i had my lights dimmed and an ambient track playing. I got out my guitar put the overdrive quite high and started doing some powerful jamming (think of like Pink Floyd-Marooned kinda thing). Next thing i hear these weird voices i dropped my guitar and ran downstairs and waited for my brother to come home.

Great story mayercaster, I laughed out loud on that one.

sounds like a good R.L.Stein goosebumps movie from back in the day or a twilight zone episode.
