I just ordered a Fender Highway One Series Texas Telecaster Electric Guitar Honey Blonde
Product #515122 (Musicians Friend)
I am 54 years old. I owned a 1957 Esquire in Buffalo NY back around '75 through '77. I sold it for $125.00. It had the best neck of any guiter I've ever held. I have small hands and I once described this neck as "delicate". A person I was talking to said that was impossible, that the '57 necks were "clubby". I have an old brain, but I remember what I remember. I ordered the guiter above. A friend told me that the 12" radius neck will be the farthest thing from my old Esquire. I guess I don't understand the neck specs. What type and specs would an Esquire have that matched "delicate", "playable", "comfortable"? Am I out to lunch? If the neck on my new guitar is too big, it's unplayable for me. Can I order a custom "V" shaped neck (my friend says that is what I'm looking for). I loved my old Jaguar neck, too. Help! kelmbaker@msn.com

The radius is the arc of the fretboard itself, the way the frets run across the board.

12" is very flat like a gibson and vintage fender is 7.25" and very round in arc if you will, everything else is falls in the middle.

The shape of the neck is the back of the neck, be it "C" shaped, "U" shaped or "V" shaped and descibes the shape of the neck as it lays in the palm of your fretting hand.

I have carpal tunnel sic. and I find the "C" shap the most comfortable neck for me, that is what you will have on your HWY Tele, try it before you order anything, you might just love it.

I find the other two shapes cause wrist and finger pain for me.
