So as you may or may not know, I had ordered a new Squier Standard Telecaster in Vintage Blonde about a week ago from my local Guitar Center. I had decided to upgrade from the Squier Affinity Telecaster in the Butterscotch Blonde. But anyway, I just recieved it yesterday after waiting a week to get it(my guitar center hadn't had one inthe store for 5 years). So I get it finally, and open the box and the high e tuner is broken clean off  . Needless to say, I was a bit mad :x So today I brought it back to my Guitar Center and had them order me a new one; after the guitar manager tried to swap out a tuner from the affinity; I even told him that they were different, but he tried anyway, but thats besides the point. So anyway, now I have to wait another week and a half for the new one to arrive. Can't wait, but wish that I didn't have too. Going to end this before I sound like im whinning. Just can't wait for it to come in.

Thats the problem with shipping guitars. It was probably fine when it left the factory, but careless handling by the shipping people probably caused your problem. Back in April I got a deal on a Gibson SG that I couldn't pass up. When it arrived it also had a tuner broken off. It worked out okay because I had another guitar in about a week with no damages, but it was still disappointing. I do think the guitars should be packaged better when they are shipped. An expensive guitar in a case inside of a box is not the best packaging I can think of.

The one time that I bought guitar from GC and had them shipped it to my house when it arrived it was fine I just had to do a setup but you could tell it was just shipped from the warehouse and never opened and checked out before shipping. If you by from some places they open them check and set them up and then repack before shipping. Elderly is one such place that does that the only thing you have to do is tighten the strings that they loosen up before shipping and tune. Sweetwater does the same stuff I think they call it there 55 point check out before shipping. At least when it is done that way you know it made it thru shipping to them and they dont just ship something already with problems. Thats half the battle then you only have to worry from them to you.

I guess if this new one comes in the same way, I'll just ask for a refund and buy from Elderly instruments. From the way that they take the pictures, I expect that they take pride and quality in what they do
